Craft coffee. Curated board games. Community.
Coming to Altavista, VA.
Altavista deserves a third place — somewhere that's not home, not work, just yours. A place to linger over a good cup of coffee, discover a game you've never played, and spend an afternoon with people you actually want to see.
That's what we're building: a craft coffee shop with a curated library of board games, a welcoming space for regulars and newcomers alike, and a genuine sense of community — right here on Main Street.
The name? Chaotic Neutral is the D&D alignment for people who follow their own rules, do what feels right, and resist being put in a box. That felt about right.
Espresso drinks, house drip, and rotating single origins from quality regional roasters.
A curated collection for all levels — from quick fillers to deep strategy.
Events, tournaments, and a place that feels like it actually belongs to the people in it.
428 Main St is a downtown Altavista building with exposed brick, wooden beams, and a built-in bar — and this is what we're turning it into.

$10/month
We're raising $10,000 on Kickstarter to cover our initial setup — game library, tables and seating, espresso equipment, and startup costs. Every backer helps make this real.
Campaign launching soon. Every share helps too.
We're partnering with quality regional roasters to bring you an honest espresso program — a house blend, a reliable drip, and rotating single origins worth paying attention to. No pretension. Just good coffee made well.
Our library will be curated with care — approachable hits, hidden gems, and a few longer games for the serious players. Whether you've never touched a board game or you know what "worker placement" means, there's something on the shelf for you.
